A Quick Peak in the Rear View Mirror
A Quick Peak in the Rear View Mirror
While I had all manner of ideas in terms of a theme for this year’s Esnagami Wilderness Lodge journal, and although many of them will be incorporated at least in part, upon reflection I decided that the most appropriate and descriptive of the lot would be “Transition.”
I will apologize, well sort of, if you are getting bored with my 2021 field journal entries featuring Esnagami Lodge, but...
The Night Before Christmas, is a poem that was first published anonymously in 1823, and then later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who claimed authorship in 1837.
Before putting pen to paper, I like to craft a theme that will provide the overall framework for each of my journal entries, and so with sincere thanks to Kenny, who as always provides me with plenty of material to work with, I’ve decided to entitle this narrative:
Just in Case
Stay what?
“Staycation”
A word that has become part of our regular vocabulary now that we are living with, or some might say in the shadow of COVID 19.
As always, I try to keep these installments of our Beaverland journal somewhat interesting and unique, notwithstanding the fact that it’s indeed a herculean task, because let’s face it – we’re not all that interesting and/or unique to begin with - and as a result, I don’t have all that much raw material to work with.
Esnagami Wilderness Lodge Revisited
There is nothing, and I mean nothing, more frustrating than arriving at your fishing destination, opening your rod tube and emptying out a pile of material that looks a lot more like kindling than your prized fishing rods.
The COVID Chronicles
Given the world's ongoing COVID 19 travails and tribulations, we didn't know if our trip was even going to happen until the beginning of June, which was when Eric finally recieved the green light to open.
