The COVID Chronicles Given the world's ongoing COVID 19 travails and tribulations, we didn't know if our trip was even going to happen until the beginning of June, which was when Eric finally recieved the green light to open. "Partially" open that is, because given that the International Border was going to remain closed until the end of June (it's now closed until the end of August) none of his American guests who were planning to be at the lodge were going to be allowed into Canada anytime soon. Day 1 Tripus Overlaptus While under normal circumstances, normal being something in rather short supply this year – particularly for me – I have about a twelve day gap between my week at Beaverland Camp and Esnagami Wilderness Lodge, and at least another six or seven day hiatus before heading off to Great Bear Lake.

Day 1st - Are We There Yet??? Truth be told, the total distance traveled together with good buddy Eric Lund throughout our stay was just over 10,000 km. – or about 6300 miles - not including the return trip, which would have brought the overall total to something north of 20,000 km.

This years Beaverland adventure had it all. People being stalked by wild – well sort of wild – animals, unfinished “Welcome Coolers,” stuffed mushroom caps, snakes on a plane - or in this case a boat – a dead skunk in the middle of the road, camaraderie, a haberdashery extravaganza, and ahem - much, much more!
